Something from Uni...

Considering my previous interest in art, I decided to take on an Animation course as part of my University degree. During this course, one of the assignments was to create a comic book 'hero' and place him/her within a piece of action, and develop this via a storyboard. I found this assignment quite an enjoyable experience as not only did it draw upon my creative side, but it was also a nice change from the typical 'essay' format assignments...

In this storyboard, 'Science Man' is a well-known and established scientist. He has entered all previous science competitions and finished 1st place in every one, without fail. However, this time he is faced with 'The Underdog', an unlikely scientist who takes on Science Man in this years competition...

In this scene, we see them both at the competition. The Underdog is announced as the winner and Science Man is distraught. Demanding a 'do-over' of the competition with The Underdog, Science Man rushes home to work on a new invention...

Staying up until the early hours, Science Man unexpectedly falls asleep in the middle of constructing his invention. Woken by his alarm, he realises he has overslept. With no time to make any amendments he must take his invention as it is to the competition. However, when getting ready to give his demonstration, he realises that the level set on his invention is dangerously high...

...Therefore, demonstrating his invention would put all those around him at terrible risk. But not giving a demonstration would cause him to forfeit the competition, leaving The Underdog the winner...again.
But, being the hero that he his, Science Man assesses his options and realises that mankind is much more important than him winning 1st prize in a science competition. So, packing up his things, he allows The Underdog to take all the glory...all for the sake of mankind :)

Some Certificates...

Here are just a few certificates that I have recieved during my years of school which I feel particularly proud of :) ...

This I recieved after contributing to the Performing Arts evening at my High School. In it I played the role of Lynda in my Drama class's production of Blood Brothers, as well as playing in the Orchestra.

This is my certificate to say that I completed the Work Experience scheme successfully :) ...

...And this is my report from my employer, who was very pleased with my performance as an employee

This was certified to me at the end of my High School experience for successfully completing accademic goals such as; Attending school everyday without any unauthorised absences; For being on time every morning and afternoon; For making progress in all subjects and to complete the year 10 and 11 programmes of study; For completing 10 days' work experience; And for completing a Record of Achievement/Progress File and individual Action Plan during year 11

This is a silver Science award that I recieved in year 11 for my achievements in science

Something I am particularly proud of is my Driving Test certificate. I love driving and enjoyed every minute of my driving lessons :)

...And finally, as I did enjoy my driving experience so much, I went on to do my Pass Plus, which I thought was a great experience as it gave me the added confidence for driving.
All these achievements I believe show that I am dedicated to what I do, I am a team player, and when a task is put to me I will give it my all to my best ability.

Artwork

As part of my college Art course, I created various pieces based upon different topic areas...

This was a piece I designed and created using acrylic paint on an MDF base. Inspired by a Medieval theme of carnival Dragons...

I designed this piece on canvas using water based paints in order to create various shades. This was a painting based around the idea of the unusual, the transformed, and the imagination...

This piece was also done on canvas using water based paints. This is in the style of a Film Poster. Adapted from the film 'Kill Bill', I used my own characters from a personal photograph to re-create the poster...

Here I designed a tile in a style to reflect a 'traditional' feel. Created from several designs based upon the topic of nature, and transformed into a Victorian image...

This piece was designed with the theme of 'layers' in mind. Both the style of the painting and the individual images themselves all present layers in some way or another. Be it style, appearance, colour, or design...

My final piece was created with acrylic paint on MDF board. It was created under the theme 'The Bathroom', and features a close up of a sink -complete with toothbrush, toothpaste, and all the essentials. The aim of this piece was to show off shading, use of colour, and detail...
